New crew system – AGAIN
With the removal of notifications (and soon invites too) by Facebook we’ve had to come up with a new way to “virality” market Battle Stations.
Tentatively here’s the plan:
The new crew system is alot like the old one, the really old one that no one really had any problems with. It’s sort of like the system a certain farm game uses.
Basically, to upgrade to a better ship will require a certain number of crew. The good news is upgrading to a better ship won’t cost resources anymore (just gold).
You get crew by getting them to click your referral link (did I mention FB said no more invites) or you post a feed item on your friend’s wall (which will contain your referral link). They click the link, add BS and accept your crew request in the game then you get them on your crew and vice versa.
Provided we are still allowed to buy robocrew at the shop, I have no problems with this. One of the things I liked about the game and kept me in it was being able to buy the crew I needed.
I do have a problem with the system used by FarmVille.
Question will those of us who have spent resources receive a refund or not? because it is crap if we don’t.

One of the best things about Battle Stations is that you don’t have to have a bajillion other people cluttering up your newsfeed to play. I realize that you need to market your product, but don’t cripple those of us who don’t want to become FB whores.
Plus, it would turn every release into an endless line of “AAD ME PLZ” posts. Like a certain farm game.
Please be unique. Please don’t do it this way. Or at the very least, make it so the game is playable without having 501 ‘friends’
Ugh this was the one reason why I like to play BS over all of the FB games. I really don’t want to have to add 100’s of random people I don’t know to my friends list in order to play at a semi-competitive level. Hopefully you guys will reconsider this. If we do need crew for some reason I hope there is a way to just purchase crew with gold or something other than needing to flood my friend feed with garbage.

i really liked BS especially since the crew requirments for quests is gone
now you want to add the crew thing to make the game less disirable
ive had 3 people join BS
one even asked if it required friends to play .. which was NO so they joined
i also started buying ochos when the crew requirments went away
i dont want to have 100 people as my FB friends who arnt really my friends
i dont have many friends who are geek enough to play this game
NEVER compair this game to any zenga game especially farmville
all zenga games are crap
please dont do like them and require friends to get ahead in the game
maybe if you rally need to, just have a crew requirement for something like the raids or upgrading the island or 5-10 plasma rocks for a new invite
please dont make us require crew to play, and if you add the robot crew or NPC reqruitment dont make it 1 million or a rediculas cost
BTW to upgrade ship needing resources actually makes sense, cause you expanding your ship

and like zenga games you can boost having 1mill players but you will only have a few actives who play the game
its no fare!!… i stopped playing zenga only! but only! cos this think… its not a good think to be a FB whores… i was able to make my friends to play this game only cos its not like “ADD ME PLZ!!” games…
This is retarded. All it does is propagate false friending and multis while going against FB developer rules. Of my 22 friends, only a few added the app to be kind to me and only one plays the game. So unless the max number of active friends is 1 or the friends with the app is 8, I can’t pull a bunch of friends out of my butt to get through the game. Handicapping us based on our number of friends is malicious.
Of course Zynga will get away with it, they practically fund FB. Don’t consider Zynga a competitor, it is an unscrupulous bastard of a company that has such a huge market share because of fraud and its ability to scam so much money out of the system it can have 2/3 of the ad space on FB most of the time.
Simply focus on making a strong game that keeps your user base and let it expand slowly. You could also lower the ocho prices from insane to merely ridiculous, that might increase your total revenue and give you the money for adverts.

I will leave this game no questions, and so will many of your loyal fans if this goes through. Not to mention Failbook will be a LOT less kind to you than to the cloner that you mentioned…
Hi,I don’t have many thing to say..I already have 1200+ friend bcoz of Zynga game,which I already quit at all(coz my love for BS)..I don’t think I wanna add some more.Plus,if you force ppl to get crew,I bet more than half of the crew they recruited will leave too,bcoz the need to add crew some more. It’s kill the fun.
Ermm..do our old crew will be counted? Then I will have no problem bcoz I had many BS friend.
I used to have 220 crew members, but after you changed the game, i was happy to remove 800 FB friends that i did not really want.
Now you are saying that i will have to add them again???!!!!
