BSv2.0 Quest Page

quest This is a work in progress version of BSv2.0’s quest page.

We’re actually further along in some of the design elements, and art assets but the basics of the layout are there. On first glance, detractors might claim that it is too similar to ZYNGA, Mobsters, and whatever other plethora of facebook games are out there. The thing to remember is that the goal of BSv2.0 is to create a friendlier, more accessible interface for new players. The new design is an amalgamation of Mafia Empire’s interface and BS’s steampunk theme; we’ve added a lot of our own spit and polish to suit the needs of our system, and to tell the story of the world we’re building.

The cool stuff goes on under the hood. More details on that in a bit.

Edit: Quests will not require Weapons. That requirement icon is for trade goods. Things like little geisha dolls, spiced perfumes, pies, ramen, etc. You collect them in quests, exploration and markets and can turn them in, or sell them to a merchant quest. There will not be any weapon requirements for any quests. Every quest can be done if you’ve unlocked it and are the proper level.

Um… I see that the quests require weapons. Wouldn’t it be better to base it more on parts and less on weapons, which not everyone can use? Christ knows it isn’t going to be amusing for a gunner to have to craft 2 combo breakers for a quest, and rammers are going to do their nut if a quest requires a yamato.

Quest won’t require weapons. There are no quest requirements other than level and trade goods. Certain quests require you have a trade good to turn in, be they Devil may pie PIES, little geisha dolls, or spiced perfume. That icon is for the trade goods, not weapons.

I repeat, quest will NOT require weapons.

at first look…WoW ! BS is getting real cool !
Yes indeed, it’s ‘look n feels’ might gets similiar to those from Zynga, but well, it’s a different game !

Just wondering if BS will also re-explore on the stats point allocation ? AT the moment, 2~3points given on each leveling is just quite ‘little’ , probably develop it similar to those of Zynga MW ? Upon Every task completion, there will be point awarded, and also on additional activities completed ?
    - these will further boost up the variation for each player as we level up, and make the game play more interesting isn’t it ? :D

    Just my thoughts.

Thanks and keep up good works !

Sigh… Just sad that traders are about to go… They could’ve excelled at this new system… :(

Why not just make a new stat for traders? Perhaps charisma?

Seems that there would be a brand new set of quests. To encourage the higher levels to complete them, perhaps there could be a once off gift of APs to everyone in conjunction with the launch?

Was thinking another way is for quests to give rewards that scale with the level in a way similar to exploring. So a lvl 150 that does one quest will meet stronger NPCs (and more XPs) compared to a lvl 70.

    i agree with conrads suggestion
i cant wait to try out the new features
so is it possible for us all to get a free 500 APs to try them with when they are released? :D

yeah, the story quest looks good, possible to add in unique story line for different classes? like NWN2

I agree. You should make every quest separate for each class, and upgraded class in 2.0 so that there is more variety and meaning within the story.

By the way, is there a way you can give each starting character max ap. Thanks in advance.

There will be seperate questline for class upgrades, so Tier 2 classes require you to complete certain quests before you can promote your original classes. We’ll consider seperate quest line for classes in a later update though, as we don’t have the time to design, code and test 4 times the number of quests for each class.

Level balancing is being considered, but will only apply to certain quests, not all of them. There is some consideration to designed quests solely for the high levels as well. Rewards, ideally, should not upset the game economy, nor clan war.

Just wondering, Will there be a class specific quest and a gender specific quest too??? Might be a good addition to the categories.. ^^

hello,so where can we get the weapons then??? (Valkyrie lance, Giga Drill, etc.) as u know the only way to get them are from quest.

is it from the exchange of the icon that we get? so its become an Icon craft,am i right? just dont let us depend on the bloody market only..

    please answer, thanks a lot!

Same place. Quest will still drop items, and most of the old quest from the old system will be ported over to the new system, albeit with minor tweaks to fit.
