Mobile Weapon: Ep1 BETA F.A.Q.
Here’s a temporary FAQ for problems you might encounter playing the BETA:
Q0) Where can I play the game?
A: You can play the BETA version at http://www.mobileweapon.net/files/mw1/
Q1) Help! I can’t even attack!
A: You have to open your inventory and equip the basic weapons that uncle Ron gave you before you can attack. – Fixed.
Q2) How come my screen freezes when I’ve defeated the enemy?
A: You have to click before you get your XP and items from a successful battle. We’re going to make it automatic like other games. – Fixed.
Q3) How come I can’t save my game?
A: You can only save in safe areas (like town) or in boss areas. We’ll have to add an alert box to tell players about this otherwise it’s not very obvious.
Q4) All my savegames except “new” were deleted!!
A: Clicking quickstart will delete your savegames if you have any. Register and save on the server to prevent this from happening. We’re putting in a warning message to ensure your saves don’t get overidden like this.
Q5) How do I even save on the server?!
A: Click the blue button to transfer your save to the server. We’ll make clearer instructions for this delicate proceedure soon.
Q6) Uhh…I got to the scrapyard. That’s all?
A: We’ve got 4-6 more areas that aren’t in yet. It’s in the pipeline. We’ll be adding one new area on 12th July.
Q7) I can’t find the parts that Ron asked me to find!
A: 2 of the 3 parts weren’t added in until later. The quest may still be incomplete. Stand by we’ll have it fixed tomorrow. – Fixed.
Q8) The Sniper rifle doesn’t work!
A: Yeah, it’s bugged and it will overwrite some of your other weapons. Don’t buy it for now. – Fixed.
Q9) My HP isn’t increasing with level!
A: Ok. Remember how your MAW HP used to go up alot in MW:0? Yeah that was our alternative to a levelling system. Now you’ve got both a pilot and a MAW. Makes more sense for the pilot to gain more XP.
But we’ve clearly got to do something about the MAW cos the HP is really pathetic if it doesn’t increase. We’re going to do something like have Ron charge you some gold and a spare part (gear, board, etc) to increase your MAW’s HP. Will post an update once we’ve made the change.
Q10) What are Reflex, Accuracy and Technique for?
A: Reflex affects your evasion rate and is needed for more powerful melee weapons.
Accuracy affects your hit rate and is needed for more powerful light ranged weapons.
Technique adds a small bit of damage to all your attacks and is needed for more powerful heavy / special weapons.
The stat requirements should be implemented by Monday 10th. You’ll need to pump the appropriate stats before you can use more powerful weapons.
Q11) STUFF DISAPPEARED from my inventory!!?
A: There’s a cap of 40 items for the inventory. So if you filled your inventory stuff might get overwritten. We’re addding in a warning to tell you when your inventory is full and allow for simple items like repair kits and gears to stack so no matter how many you have it only takes up one slot.
In the case of Uncle Ron’s list disappearing. It’s because the quest isn’t complete. So he removes the list but doesn’t give you a reward. We’ll fix that soon. – Fixed.
Q12) The grass is blocking me.
A: Press spacebar to cut the grass. You might find some treasure hidden in the grass.
Q13) How do I get other team/party members?
A: We’ll add the first recruitable team member on 12th July 2006.

you just have to walk straight through the jungle and PRESTO! The scrapyard!
the MAW paint job does not with stand a save and load sequence
you still need to answer those questions:
how do i change my maw name?
what each stat is for? (reflex,accuracy,technique)
what the “new” save for?
how do i delete saves?
my save disappeared, why? (some because of an update some because of the shared file getting cleared somehow)
some enemies dont attack me, why?
i found a secret:
if you take down grass you sometimes find a chest that gives you credits, to take grass out you stand near it and click on it (i am not sure if you can get chests from the grass in the scrapyard i found it on tiki jungle)
-you can’t change maw name
-accuracy makes you hit esier (don’t know for reflex, technique)
-save “new” is for new game
-you can’t delete save game
-your save disappeared cos you clicked quickstart
whenever the screen needs to load in order for me to enter a battle it sticks!!!!!
you cant use the letter l while loging in i think because its a shortcut to the load game button.
I got all the items on Ron’s list but my character says that I haven’t got all the items yet why?
I got all of Ron’s item but when I talk to him my character says I haven’t got the items yet. Why?
Found another bug with inventory items being overwritten. my inventory consisted of the following:
gear x4
b.fist
m.cannon
uncles list
I purchased the hammer, exited the garage and equiped it.
I then sold my b.fist and purchased repair kit x4.
Now the Hammer is no longer in my inventory.
You may wish to look into this.

i get stuck in the opening dialogue with uncle ron. if i click ‘load’ instead of new game, it’ll bring me to the town immediately, then if i go and talk to uncle ron again, the opening dialogue will take place once again (this time in his shop) and i get stuck in the same place again
i dont like stat limits for weapons we then wont be able to use all the weapons and we can only use one weapon type. you will then start useing only that weapon and it will end up that battle will be boring.
you said you were going to put a stat limit for weapons.
it will add more strategy but i prefer level limit so at the end you can use all the weapons.
maybe make it that each weapon is good against another enemy.

We have stat limits so everyone has to specialize. And we give you 3 characters eventually so you can try all the weapons.
gear, gyrobolt , polyboard are not stacking!!!
Clear your cache.
Tools > Internet Options > Delete Files > all offline content > Ok
You old items from before the patch won’t be able to stack. I suggest you sell them.
why can i complete ron quest

the stacked items only allow single usage during combat
Stacked Items do not appear stacked when trying to sell them, instead, they appear as one item.
why does it always take 2 minutes of loading time when i engage a combat?
ok i had that beefy cannon thing and i was getting gears to augment. nehoo i engaged in one battle and poof! beefy cannon was gone. why did it disapear?
ok this may be a very n00bish comment but whats up w/ the multiplayer? i cant seem to go on…
multiplayer isn’t completed yet
there are quite frequent rollbacks of savefiles, sometimes it even rolled back to savefiles a few days ago
We’ll work on the Multiplayer version after we’re fully done releasing the full version of MW:1.
The FULL version (with all our areas and the 2nd town AND an ending) of MW:1 should be released by end of August.
i got a plasma rock but ron want take it
how do i get a plasma rock???
you have to get 3 rocks. also slow dowjn the phase bats and driill fiends.
Plasma rocks randomly pop up in certain spots. I won’t tell you where, but the place looks quite different to other areas in the mine.
Jin’s reflex’s are at 32, so I bought the ‘power fist’. In the requirements it says that reflexs only have to be 30, but I can’t use it yet…..HELP!!
How do you get the polyboard?

Ok, I’ve got the stuff from the scrapyard, got the plasmarocks Ron wants. I’ve travelled to Endless gorge, ancient ruins, scrapyard, great tiki jungle, laxlo mine and axure cove. Ron says that he’s not done with the Macrogen everytime I speak to him. I assume the game ends here and I have to wait for the new release?
Will Uncle Ron ever finish making the Macrogen? There’s nowhere left to explore (though Ancient Ruins are still closed)… so I’m not sure what else to do for Uncle ron to finish the darn thing.

I cannot fight enemies. I go into battle and the game automatically makes the enemies run. Or something. But I can’t fight anymore.
